Character's name: Rimethiel Gladespire
Character's LJ: [livejournal.com profile] rimethiel
Character's canon: World of Warcraft OC.

Brief (around 300 words) personality outline of your character:

In life, Rimethiel was a cheerful and happy elven girl. In death, Rimethiel the woman is bound by duty. When NOT mind-controlled by the Lich King and driven to commit atrocities, she is equally driven to make amends for what she'd done under the Lich King's control.

Rime is usually quiet, preferring to think things through before she acts. But once she has decided upon action, she turns into a whirlwind of destruction, casting runes and wreaking devastation with her chosen weapon. She will defend the helpless and those weaker than she is in a heartbeat.

Family--in name or by blood--is very important to her; if she names a person as such, be prepared for loyalty. She hasn't named anyone that close to her currently; her only remaining blood family is her younger brother, Maridian. Rime proves that she can be something of a nag, as she would love nothing more than for Maridian to settle down and start a family to carry on the family name. He, on the other hand, thinks there's "too much stuff out there he needs to make hit him!". This attitude makes Rimethiel sigh.

Unlike Maridian, Rimethiel is sane--or as sane as one can be when one is a reanimated corpse--and has complete knowledge and realization of said fact. She has a full range of emotions, and yet does her best not to show them, perceiving them to be a sign of weakness. She can be rather aloof, and yet is not entirely averse to making friends.

Rimethiel is not impressed by the faction dissension between the Horde and the Alliance, and resists being provoked into attacks against the opposing faction. The Lich King may have been abolished, but Deathwing may be worse than her old master...there are worse things than the separation of race.

Brief (around 500 words) history and background of your character. Explain where they cut off from the timeline:

Rimethiel Gladespring was born in what is now known as the Ghostlands, before the beginning of the Third War. Her family served two noble houses, Windrunner being the most notable. As a young elf, she was raised as a noble companion. This meant that she was given a good deal of education. The second of four children, she was expected to join the Rangers, and trained to that purpose. This is what brought her to the company of Syvlanas Windrunner when the death knight Arthas attacked Quel'thalas.

Being that she was one of the youngest Rangers, Rimethiel was one of the ones sent in the attempt to warn Silvermoon City that the elf gates had fallen and that Arthas and his Scourge were about to sack the city. Like so many of the others, she never made it, attacked by ghouls and slain. Unlike some, Rimethiel was raised by Arthas to become one of his new Death Knights. Sent to Acherus, the Death Knight necropolis over the Eastern Plaguelands, she was directed to assault both the forces of the Scarlet Crusade and the Argent Dawn. Despite the incursions against the Scarlet Crusade being a resounding success between Rimethiel's actions and that of other Death Knights in the area, once they attacked Light's Hope Chapel, the Death Knights, including Rimethiel herself, were freed of the Lich King's mental domination. As a group, the former thralls of Arthas returned to Acherus and retook it in the name of their new alliance, the Knights of the Ebon Blade, and Rime was sent to offer allegiance to Garrosh Hellscream, the new Warchief of the Horde.

She was not impressed by Garrosh, either, and vowed to leave the city as soon as she could.

While in Orgrimmar, she met up with her brother in the Valley of Wisdom. Maridian promised to take her to Shattrath, and she took him up on that offer, and the one to join his guild as well. Under the banner of Empire, she cleaved a bloody swath through the Burning Legion's domination of Outland and continued on to Northrend, intent on taking what revenge she could on the Lich King himself. With the aid of Maridian and their friends, she scaled Icecrown Citadel and was a member of the party who slew Arthas.

Despite her hopes, it did not give Rimethiel the peace she craved. While others railed against the infiltration of the Twilight cult and the subsequent rise of Deathwing from the Maelstrom, Rime saw it as a blessing, so that she could take her sword up again and defend the few she cared about.

Except before she could reach Deepholm, Stacy took her.

Sample post (just a general, everyday, puttering-around-the-ship post; please include a snippet of dialogue):

Rime stood alone on the Observation Deck, simply watching the Bleed pass, face impassive. Having no need to sleep or eat gave one a lot of time to think, especially when she'd exhausted the tomes that had interested her so far in the Media Library. (And the idea of machinery tomes that made things that gnomes and goblins created look sane? Kind of ridiculous, at least to her...)

"I think that if Maridian weren't here, I'd doubt my own sanity," she muttered to herself. "Fortunately for me, I'm not certain I can be worse than he is."

For all her disparaging comments to no one, it had relieved her immensely to see her brother, the paladin, again. Though she was reluctant to let him know that...

If the character has magic, mutant, or otherwise metahuman abilities, please explain what they are and outline EXACTLY how they function, as their powers may not work due to the nature of the ship or may need to be limited somehow:
Rimethiel is a Frost Death Knight, specializing in Frost damage, Runic power abilities, and regeneration of runic power. Her weapon strikes can cause disease damage, increasing already debilitating melee strikes from her sword. She can call upon certain runes to power effects, and calling upon those runes generates runic power, which can be used for other effects.

General Powers:

Frost Presence: In Frost Presence, damage is increased, and Rimethiel regenerates runic power faster.. Only one Presence may be active at a time, and assuming a new Presence will consume any stored Runic Power.

Blood Presence: Blood Presence increases the amount of damage others take, and increases the amount of damage Rimethiel herself can take. Increases threat generated (can distract enemies from others also in melee and make them turn their attention to the Death Knight).

Unholy Presence: Makes the Death Knight move and attack substantially faster.

Being as Rime is a Frost Death Knight, I don't see her using the other Presences much if at all, but for completion's sake, they're listed. In rare cases she might use Unholy Presence for the increase in movement speed.

Plague Strike: A strong hit that infects the target with Blood Plague, a disease dealing shadow damage over time.

Blood Strike: A weak weapon hit that does additional damage for diseases afflicting the target.

Festering Strike: A powerful hit that makes Frost Fever, Blood Plague, and Chains of Ice effects last longer.

Death Strike: A deadly attack that can also heal Rimethiel if she has recently sustained damage.

Necrotic Strike: A vicious strike that damages, prevents the target from healing for a short time, and can also disrupt the target's spellcasting while they are unable to heal.

Horn of Winter: The Death Knight blows the Horn of Winter, which generates a small amount Runic Power and makes nearby allies stronger and faster for a few minutes.

Brittle Bones: Rimethiel's Strength is increased slightly and her Frost Fever chills the bones of its victims, increasing their physical damage taken slightly. If the Frost Fever disease effect ends, so does this effect.

Icy Touch: Chills the target for a small amount of Frost damage and infects them with Frost Fever, a disease that deals periodic damage and reduces melee and ranged attack speed slightly for a short time.

Mind Freeze: Smash the target's mind with cold, instantly interrupting spellcasting and preventing any spell in that school from being cast for 4 sec.

Chains of Ice: Shackles the target with frozen chains, reducing movement speed for a short time. Also infects the target with Frost Fever.

Obliterate: A brutal instant attack. Diseased targets take additional damage.

Path of Frost: A freezing aura creates ice beneath the Death Knight's feet, allowing nearby allies to walk on frozen water. Works while mounted, but being attacked or receiving damage will cancel the effect.

Icebound Fortitude: Rimethiel freezes her blood to become immune to Stun effects and more resistant to damage for a few seconds.

Empower Rune Weapon: Empower the Death Knight's rune weapon, immediately activating all runes and generating immediate Runic Power.

Death Coil: Fire a blast of unholy energy, causing Shadow damage to an enemy target or healing a small amount of damage on a friendly Undead target.

Death Grip: Harness the unholy energy that surrounds and binds all matter, drawing the target toward the death knight and forcing the enemy to attack the death knight for 3 sec.

Death and Decay: Corrupts the ground targeted by the Death Knight, causing Shadow damage so long as the target remains in the corrupted area. It also tends to piss the afflicted target off and makes them want to attack the Death Knight.

Raise Dead: Raises a Ghoul to fight by the Death Knight's side. You can have a maximum of one Ghoul at a time. Lasts a short time. (Only in Unholy death knights does this become permanent.)

Anti-Magic Shell: Surrounds the Death Knight in an Anti-Magic Shell, absorbing most, but not all of the damage dealt by harmful spells (up to a maximum of half of the Death Knight's health) and preventing application of harmful magical effects. Lasts a short time.

Army of the Dead: (Channelled: this means breaking her concentration will either summon less ghouls, or make the spell fail.) Summons an entire legion (In game, this is about 5 in number, usually not more) of Ghouls to fight for the Death Knight. The Ghouls will swarm the area, taunting and fighting anything they can. While channelling Army of the Dead, the Death Knight takes less damage depending on how naturally good they are at defending against attacks (Rime is okay at it. This power usually depends on someone else dealing with an enemy while the Death Knight summons, in-game).

Outbreak: Instantly applies Blood Plague and Frost Fever to the target enemy.

Blood Boil: Boils the blood of all enemies in close range, dealing Shadow damage. Deals additional damage to targets infected with Blood Plague or Frost Fever.

Strangulate: Strangulates an enemy, silencing them for 5 sec. Non-player victim spellcasting is also interrupted for 3 sec.

Blood Tap: Immediately activates a Blood Rune and converts it into a Death Rune for the next 20 sec. Death Runes count as a Blood, Frost or Unholy Rune.

Dark Command: Commands the target to attack Rimethiel, but has no effect if the target is already attacking her.

Death Pact: Sacrifices an undead minion, healing the Death Knight for a quarter of her maximum health.

Dark Simulacrum: Places a dark ward on an enemy that persists for a short time, triggering when the enemy next spends mana on a spell, and allowing the Death Knight to unleash an exact duplicate of that spell. Against nonplayers, only absorbs some harmful spells.

Frost Fever (Passive): A disease dealing Frost damage over time for a few moments. It also reduces the target's melee and ranged attack speed by a small amount. Caused by Icy Touch and other spells.

Blood Plague (Passive): A disease dealing Shadow damage over time for a few moments. Caused by Plague Strike and other abilities.

Frost Specialization:

Frost Strike: Instantly strike the enemy with a mighty blow, which also inflicts Frost damage

Icy Talons: Increases melee attack speed.

Blood of the North: Permanently transforms Rimethiel's Blood Runes into Death Runes. Death Runes can be used as Blood, Frost, or Unholy runes.

Frozen Heart: Increases all Frost damage done by a small amount.

Non-superhuman special abilities of note: Rimethiel has learned the skill of enchanting, which is bespelling armor and weapons to be more sturdy or have specific magical properties (i.e. giving the user more strength, agility, so on, imbuing weapons with fire or ice abilities when used to strike). Unfortunately she has a limited amount of reagents to use. She also has the Death Knight specialty enchant ability, Runeforging...which is useless without a runeforge, alas. Like her brother, she is able to wear her plate armor nigh indefinitely with no discomfort. Finally, Rime also a skilled miner and can cook...not that she needs to eat any longer.
